Ingredients Needed:

  • Cream cheese
  • Dry ranch seasoning mix
  • Chopped deli ham
  • Chopped dill pickles
  • Green onion, sliced
  • Large flour tortillas

How to Make Pickle Dip Pinwheels

Finely chop the deli ham, dill pickles, and green onion for easy assembly.

In a small bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and dry ranch seasoning mix until smooth and well blended.

Evenly layer the shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, Rotel, and sliced green onions over the tortillas.

Starting from one end, roll each tortilla tightly into a log, keeping the filling evenly distributed. Wrap each log in plastic wrap to hold its shape.

Place the wrapped rolls in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to firm up and make slicing easier.

Remove the plastic wrap, then slice each tortilla into 1-inch pieces, discarding or snacking on the ends. Arrange the pinwheels on a platter and serve immediately.

Tips for Making

  • Soften the Cream Cheese: Allow the cream cheese to sit at room temperature for smooth and effortless mixing.
  • Dice Ingredients Finely: Finely chopped ham, pickles, and green onions make it easier to roll the tortillas and slice them cleanly.
  • Use Sturdy Tortillas: Choose large flour tortillas that won’t tear when rolled and can hold the creamy filling.
  • Refrigerate Before Slicing: Chilling the rolled tortillas helps them hold their shape for neat slices.
  • Serve Fresh: While you can prepare these ahead of time, they’re best enjoyed the day they’re made to keep the tortillas from softening too much.

Substitutions and Variations

  • Spicy Kick: Add a sprinkle of red pepper flakes or a few drops of hot sauce to the cream cheese mixture for some heat.
  • Vegetarian Option: Skip the ham and add extra crunchy veggies like diced celery, carrots, or bell peppers.
  • Herby Flavor: Mix in some fresh dill or parsley to enhance the pickle flavor.
  • Low-Carb Swap: Use large lettuce leaves or low-carb tortillas instead of flour tortillas for a lighter option.
  • Cheesy Addition: Sprinkle some shredded cheddar or Swiss cheese on top of the filling for an extra layer of flavor.
  • Bacon Twist: Replace the ham with crispy, crumbled bacon for a smoky, savory spin.
